'Sleek cuts meet tactile linens in Wa-ring's collection of tailored blazers, boxy trousers and ‘waterfall’ ruffle blouses. The feminine staples get a sharp modern twist. Designer Annette Sax uses screen printing to transfer ochre paint on canvas, and campfire charcoal pigment on linen textiles adds grit and edge to a tailored look. With fabrications enriched by the land’s natural pigments and textures, Wa-Ring (‘river is kin’) invites wearers to engage with the storytelling and gathering rituals of Taungurung Country.'
